Horist has completed a new round of financing to develop a next-generation intelligent mineral sorting solution.

    2023-10-17

Recently, Horist Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Horist” or the “Company”), a domestic company specializing in X-ray data acquisition and AI‑based recognition technologies and providing customers with intelligent sorting solutions across all mineral types, announced the completion of a hundreds‑of‑millions‑yuan Series B financing round. This round was led by China National Venture Capital Corporation (CNVC), with participation from Minmetals Venture Capital, Guotai Junan Zhenyu Investment, and See Fund. Yikai Capital served as Horist’s exclusive financial advisor in this transaction.

This round of funding will be used for the development of new equipment, the expansion of products and business operations, and the strengthening of the marketing team.

For a long time, conventional full‑process mineral processing has suffered from high energy consumption, low efficiency, and significant environmental risks. Under the dual‑carbon goals, mining companies face mounting pressure. Horist is dedicated to the research and development of high‑performance X‑ray detectors and intelligent material‑identification algorithms, and has launched several cutting‑edge, fully automated, online sorting systems tailored for the mining industry. These systems deliver precise mineral separation with ultra‑low energy use, ensuring both high efficiency and safety—improving concentrate quality while enabling the pre‑removal of low‑value tailings, thereby boosting economic returns and helping customers build smart, green mines.

Horist’s core team originates from the State Key Laboratory of Precision Instruments at Tsinghua University and the Brain-Inspired Computing Research Center at Tsinghua University. The team has been conducting research in ore X-ray spectroscopy and its intelligent recognition algorithms for more than a decade, with nearly 15 years of expertise in weak-signal detection. The company is dedicated to the R&D and application of core technologies. Starting from spectral detection technology and extending to actuation and control, all key components are independently developed and manufactured in-house. Furthermore, the company has seamlessly integrated backend signal processing and algorithm design, and after years of R&D, has established platform‑based architectural frameworks for both hardware/software and algorithms. This approach has enabled the company to launch multiple product lines of mineral‑processing equipment, covering a broad spectrum of ores—including coal, non‑ferrous metals, ferrous metals, non‑metallic minerals, and even radioactive ores. Its underlying hardware architecture supports the implementation of sophisticated jet‑blowing separation algorithms, while its diverse product solutions have earned recognition as industry leaders in China, with clear advantages in overall machine performance.

Horist swiftly captures market demand, leveraging its local and industry‑specific strengths to rapidly deploy applications and further cultivate and expand its market presence. Backed by deep technical expertise and years of accumulated experience, the company has successfully implemented numerous large‑scale projects in sectors such as coal mining and nonferrous metals, serving leading industry players including Zijin Mining, China Minmetals Corporation, and China National Energy. By localizing equipment and tailoring designs to specific application needs, Horist amplifies the advantages of domestic enterprises, strengthening its competitive edge while achieving breakthroughs in overseas markets like Russia. The company is now steadily expanding into Europe, North America, Africa, Central Asia, and other regions. During the pandemic, Horist overcame numerous challenges to deliver rapid revenue growth, posting year‑over‑year increases of nearly 100% for several consecutive years, and was honored in 2023 with the national “Little Giant” designation for specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative enterprises.

Horist has successively earned recognition from investment firms including Qidi Xingzhi Venture Capital, Liangshan Guokong, XiYang Capital, Guoke Jiahe, Shuimu Venture Capital, and Anxin Securities.
