    FAQ

Can the operating bandwidth of the device be extended?

Standard model specifications are designed in strict accordance with the frequency‑band requirements outlined in the datasheet. If a wider operating bandwidth is required, we can provide a customized solution based on an assessment of your specified frequency range, power levels, and VSWR criteria.

Are parameters such as insertion loss and isolation tested at room temperature or across the full temperature range?

Unless otherwise specified, the electrical specifications listed in the datasheet are measured under room‑temperature conditions of 25°C. For complete high‑ and low‑temperature performance data, please contact our sales team to obtain the temperature‑dependent test report.

How do you distinguish between a device’s peak power and its average power? Can it be operated at an over‑power level for short periods?

The average power rating represents the long-term continuous load‑carrying capability, while the peak power rating indicates the short‑duration pulse‑withstand capability. Operating continuously at power levels exceeding the rated specifications is not recommended, as such overloading can accelerate device aging, degrade performance parameters, and even lead to device failure. For pulsed‑mode operation, please provide the duty cycle to enable an accurate assessment.

Can test data for the intermodulation performance of passive components be provided?

Standard production models provide typical intermodulation test curves; certain models can be supplied with a test report accompanying the shipment upon customer request—please communicate your order requirements in advance.

What is the relationship between Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) and return loss? How should one make trade-offs in engineering practice?

Both VSWR and return loss characterize the degree of impedance matching; the closer the VSWR is to 1:1, the better. Return loss is expressed as a negative value, and a larger magnitude indicates smaller reflections. When selecting components, prioritize VSWR, as it provides a more intuitive indication of how well the system’s overall link is matched.

Why do RF systems typically use a characteristic impedance of 50 Ω?

A 50-ohm impedance represents an engineering compromise between minimum loss (around 77 ohms) and maximum power handling (around 30 ohms), and has become the industry‑wide standard. When selecting components, be sure to verify that the impedance of all devices, cables, and connectors is 50 ohms; otherwise, severe reflections may occur.
