    Plane Wave Test System

The PWC2000 planar wave test system is a dedicated measurement instrument designed for the R&D, quality assurance, production, and OTA compliance testing of 5G massive MIMO base stations. Built on an integrated architecture that combines a phase‑shifting attenuator network with a probe array, it can generate high‑quality planar waves within a specified quiet zone, enabling far‑field‑like measurements at near‑field distances without the need for near‑to‑far field transformation algorithms, thereby significantly reducing both test space requirements and test time.

The device integrates a broadband antenna array, high‑precision phase‑shifter/attenuator modules, a low‑noise amplification chain, a high‑speed switch matrix, and a timing‑synchronization system. It supports remote control via Ethernet, batch parameter configuration, self‑calibration, and status monitoring, thereby meeting the automated RF‑parameter testing requirements of base stations with multiple ports.

    Typical Test Applications

    • 5G base station OTA testing: equivalent isotropically radiated power (EIRP/TRP), modulation quality (EVM), adjacent-channel leakage ratio (ACLR), spectral emission mask (SEM), receiver sensitivity, dynamic range, and blocking and intermodulation.

    • Antenna array characterization: gain, radiation pattern, and polarization isolation; efficiency, port isolation, and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR); near-field plane-wave synthesis and quiet-zone verification.

    Application areas

    • Compact size: Offers a significant cost advantage within the sub‑8 GHz band, with a footprint up to four times smaller than that of far‑field test systems.

    • High-quality quiet zone: amplitude imbalance: ±0.5 dB (3.5 GHz), phase imbalance: ±4° (3.5 GHz).

    • Wideband High Power: Full‑band coverage from 2 to 8 GHz, with an average power of ≥30 dBm in ANT continuous wave/thermal switching mode.

    • High-precision control: 0–25 dB attenuation (in 0.1 dB steps), 360° phase shifting (in 1° steps), and channel alignment calibration.

    • High Isolation, Low Loss: Multi-channel design with high isolation, delivering excellent insertion loss and VSWR.

    • High reliability: Rigorously validated through stringent reliability tests, including vibration, shock, thermal cycling, and aging.

    • User-friendly software: Ethernet communication, configuration import/export, IP address display, and remote command control.

    • Compact design: meets installation space constraints, features no sharp edges, standardized connectors, and a foolproof power‑supply design.
