Electromagnetic Reverberation Chamber
With the advancement of communication technologies, mainstream consumer electronics now support an ever‑increasing number of frequency bands, and the number of communication antennas continues to grow. This trend has led to progressively longer production‑test cycles. Among existing mass‑production techniques for evaluating the overall communication performance of complete devices, traditional single‑point coupling shielded‑box testing suffers from low efficiency: typically, only one device can be tested at a time. Moreover, when testing different communication products or different frequency bands, the entire hardware test setup must be reconfigured, and the measured values often exhibit significant discrepancies compared with OTA measurements.
The BRP series production‑line reverberation test system comprises a shielded chamber, antennas, a signal‑conditioning module (including RF switches, filters, low‑noise amplifiers, and other RF components), and a rack. It employs the multi‑probe reverberation principle to perform over‑the‑air (OTA) testing and is commonly used in both R&D and production‑line testing of terminal devices. When integrated with test instruments and software, it enables automated test solutions; during testing, electronic switches route the RF paths to acquire data, which is then processed by the software. The OTA production‑line electrical reverberation chamber, on the other hand, is primarily designed for full‑device RF testing under production‑line conditions of smart wearable products such as smartwatches and Bluetooth earphones. It leverages a radiating source to excite multiple high‑order electromagnetic modes within a large metallic cavity, and utilizes multiple sampling points to establish a statistically isotropic, uniform field inside the cavity. This setup ultimately supports the measurement of key performance indicators, including spurious emissions, TRP, and TIS.
• High testing efficiency: Supports one-to-many parallel testing, maximizing instrument throughput and UPH.
• Wide bandwidth: Supports testing of RF parameters such as TRP, TIS, and spurious emissions for DUTs in the 650 MHz to 18 GHz frequency range.
• Supports wireless connectivity: Uses Wi‑Fi for testing instead of the traditional USB connection, thereby minimizing the interference that USB cables can introduce to the DUT antenna’s performance.
• High compatibility: Supports quick switching between different sizes and models of devices, including smartphones, tablets, smart wearables, CPEs, and more.
• Antenna‑position free of adjustment: The device requires no manual antenna‑position tuning and can be directly deployed into production after software debugging is completed on the client side.
The BRP series production‑line reverberation test equipment consists primarily of a shielded chamber and a signal‑conditioning module that includes RF components such as RF switches, filters, and low‑noise amplifiers. Powered by an ATE software platform, the system enables product‑instrument communication, RF channel switching, test‑data evaluation, test‑report generation, and integration with MES systems. Depending on specific requirements, the BRP series can be configured into three models: BRP‑1500, BRP‑2400, and BRP‑3200.
